Measure the run and inspect the pipe

Measure the run from house to main and camera the line. A sewer camera tells you whether it is a spot repair or a full replacement — never quote a replacement without the video.

Choose the material

Use about $100/ft installed for PVC, $150/ft for cast iron and $125/ft for clay-pipe repair as planning allowances. Replace them with local quotes because depth and restoration can dominate the line item.
